BioRomeo is a family business, started in the 1940s. At the time of reclamation, Krispijn’s grandparents single-handedly converted the seabed into the current polder landscape, thus acquiring a piece land to start a farm. Since then, the company has undergone many transformations. From a regular farm with an eye for nature, it was converted to an organic company in 1990 by Digni, Krispijn’s father. This is how the collaboration between Peter Keij and Digni van den Dries came about. In 2006, a step further was taken in terms of nature-oriented approach, from then on the company is biodynamic and all products fall under the Demeter license. In 2012, the company took on its current form and was renamed BioRomeo. Nowadays Krispijn and Peter run the company together.
