For over 35 years, de WAOG in Neer has been growing a wide range of vegetables in an ecological manner.

The 11 hectares of land was purchased in 1981, after which the organic cultivation of vegetables and arable products started.
Organic farming was still new then and everything they learnt they has to self develop. Due to the favourable climatic location, growing early vegetables has always been a speciality of ‘de Waog’

De Waog is run by Wiel and Joep van de Bool and Trudelies Dorssers. They have their own farm shop and now the cultivation area has now been reduced to approximately 5 hectares. In addition to vegetables, potatoes and grains are grown, and part of it is sown annually with green manure (clover). Because of this, the soil is not cultivated too intensively, and – due to a wide crop rotation – the disease pressure for the crops is minimal. Fertilization is done with organic straw-rich manure that is ripened for a year on the compost site.

De Waog supplies sweet potatoes to Nimble.
